Save Yourselves, save your Iman!

We often see people trying to shy away and rejecting the truth which goes against their belief or value system what they have grown up with! They also try to put people down who speak and act as per Allah and His messenger’s commands.

Now this, is their arrogance! They do that because it goes against their whims and desires of this worldly life. They speak without any knowledge of the Deen, just to point out at those who speak against that which is forbidden and who live life like strangers. Interestingly, that’s how Islam began as something strange and today its ended up again as something strange. And the prophet (peace be upon him) gave glad tidings to the strangers.

Our prophet ordered us to avoid that which he has forbidden and to do as much as we can that which he has ordered. But unfortunately, people have done the other way around, they do that which he has forbidden as much as they can and avoid that which he has ordered!

Now, this is the world we are living in!

The world has become a place such that people look at you otherwise for being strange, for not doing things that they have taken it as a norm in this world and are living on!

On the other hand, the Deen today has been reduced into few daily rituals and nothing more than that. Parents themselves defend their actions by telling their children that we need to live in this society and so must abide by things which totally destroy our iman (belief) and continue to further deteriorate our iman to the next lowest level.

May Allah make us strong enough to withstand and protect our iman from our own family and friends who have become the enemies of our iman.

My evidence:

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah ( May Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say:

What I have forbidden for you, avoid. What I have ordered you [to do], do as much of it as you can. For verily, it was only their excessive questioning and disagreeing with their Prophets that destroyed [the nations] who were before you.

(Al Bukhari & Muslim)

Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

Arrogance means rejecting the truth and looking down on people

(Sahih Muslim)

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Islam began as a something strange and it will return to being strange, so blessed are the strangers.”

(Sahih Muslim)
