The issue today that lurks around mostly in developing countries is that a women is married not just as a wife to a person but also as a caretaker for the in-laws and as a maid of the house.

That’s the irony!

And so the women are not only made to take care of their husband and children but also her in-laws and their never ending relatives. Now this has to be be made aware to not only the parents of the bridegroom but also the woman herself, who will be getting married, that her role and duty is only to take care of her husband and their children.

When it comes to taking care of the in-laws, then that is not her duty. In case she does it, then she will not only gain in her good deeds but also her husband will love her more for taking care of his parents. Just like how she would expect her husband to take care of her parents.

But then we must also know that if she doesn’t, then there is no sin on her and she should not be held liable and attacked on her morals.

Unfortunately, in the name of culture, there are many practices which are wrong and that must be made understood to the people in the light of Quran & Hadith. As long as we don’t negate such practices and enlighten people of their misdeeds, they will never accept that they are at fault but will continue to live in their contumacy that it’s their right and the woman will always be targeted and victimised!
