Do you know what are sins?

If not, then do know and protect yourselves and your family!

The society today has acknowledged the sins & the gravity of sin based on the societal norms today and not based on Deen. So parents react to those sins based on the society they grow.

When we grew up, having relationships with girls were like forbidden but today’s parents are ok with that in the name of modernisation. We have modernised ourselves so much that we now don’t bat an eyelid over live-in relationships or same-sex relationships. There are many such examples. Earlier people used to not raise their voice against parents but now it’s become a common practice of kids shouting at their own parents. Back in those days, Tv was without sexual content but today sexual content is the norm and parents enjoy the same alongside their kids. Now this is sexualisation in the name of liberation!

Unfortunately this is the society we are living now where many vices have become virtues in the eyes of people. This will only further worsen in the coming years to reach all that which the prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم) prophesied!

Having said that, each one is free to follow what he or she wants. Am not enforcing on anyone else. I am only a shepherd of my family – i.e my wife and children. And Allah will ask each one of us about our families. He has ordered not only to protect one’s family but also to save them from hell fire.

Just imagine for a while, if we see a real fire before our eyes today and see our kids going to fall in it. What would we do? We will make a huge hue and cry and will do our best to save them. But then, we don’t react in the same way when we see our kids walking towards the hell fire. We keep mum at their actions that they do and assume that if Allah gives hidaya (guidance) they will come back on straight path. Or else we wash our hands by telling that let them enjoy now, when they grow old they will practice Deen and walk on the straight path. But I ask them, has Allah promised anyone of us with old age? Our death is not known to anyone except Allah and it will take us by surprise whenever it comes.

We know as Muslims that the fire of the hell fire is much stronger than the fire of the earth and that is indeed going to happen. That is the truth from our Lord. Yet we don’t protect our family from that. It only shows we haven’t yet believed completely. We yearn and worry only about the worldly life and even if we say that we worry about the hereafter, then that is definitely less than what we worry for the pleasures of this life!

Finally, no matter even if the whole world today has taken something that is unlawful as lawful and vice versa; it is always better for a believer to do that which has been decreed as lawful by our Creator. Coz that is what He has decreed for the believers.

May Allah help us to understand sins based on the Deen of Allah and not what the ever changing society says!

May Allah guide us to not be part in their sins that they do but help us to be part in that what is Haq (truth) and in that what is righteous and pious!

O you who believe! Protect yourselves and your families against a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels, stern and severe, and who disobey not the commands they receive from Allâh, but do that which they are commanded.
