The following are very strong verses from the Qur’an which is to remind those who would want to benefit themselves. And those who fear Allah will definitely be reminded!

Qur’an – Chapter 10 Surah Yunus (Jonah):

And We took the Children of Israel across the sea, and Pharaoh and his soldiers pursued them in tyranny and enmity until, when drowning overtook him, he said, “I believe that there is no deity except that in whom the Children of Israel believe, and I am of the Muslims.”(90)

For which Allah replied:

Now? And you had disobeyed before and were of the corrupters?(91)

So today We will save you in body that you may be to those who succeed you a sign. And indeed, many among the people, of Our signs, are heedless!(92)

Still for those who doubt, Allah says:

So if you are in doubt, about that which We have revealed to you, then ask those who have been reading the Scripture before you. The truth has certainly come to you from your Lord, so never be among the doubters. (94)

And never be of those who deny the signs of Allah and [thus] be among the losers.(95)

In the end of the 19th century, there were many bodies discovered in the Egyptian land of the Pharaohs. And so many speculations arose, as to which is that Pharaoh which has been mentioned in the Qur’an as a sign for the whole of mankind.

It’s still not very conclusive as to which Pharoah was that who got drowned in the sea when he chased Moses (peace be upon him) and his people. So many of the scientists, clergymen and doctors debated and placed arguments & counter arguments claiming as Qur’an to be fake or man-made with errors. Sadly they were not having a proper understanding of what they meant.

On the other hand, we also have many Muslims claiming one particular pharaoh as the one mentioned in the Qur’an. But then, the evidence what has been put forth is not that conclusive but only a probability!

I would like to remind that bodies which weren’t decayed completely are in itself a sign from Allah. Had He not willed to preserve their bodies, they wouldn’t have been today in the first place. It is because a vast majority of people don’t believe that everything that happens in this world is only because Allah allows that to happen or has decreed, is why they fail to understand. If He wished to stop anything, do you think it can ever take place?

In order to come to a conclusion as to which Pharaoh in specific, we would need many more evidences. To get closer to that, we need to also study about people who were present at the time of Pharaoh. We need to find about his wife who was named Asiyah Bint Muzahim. And what was the reason the Pharoah agreed to adopt Moses as their own, when his wife Asiyah requested. It must be probably that the Pharaoh didn’t have a son at that time.

As per the Christian scriptures, the person who adopted and looked after Moses was a woman named Bitiyah, which sounds quite similar to Asiyah. So if we are able to decode this wife of Pharoah then it will be easy to find out who was the Pharaoh mentioned in the Quran.

But then, for a believer it’s enough what His Lord has revealed. So one must not be lost completely and stray away from the straight path in trying to find out what is the actual truth. As truth will be revealed when it has to and when Allah has decreed it’s time. But then, we must also know that there are many among us who reject the truth even if it’s glaring on their faces!

It’s a sign to ponder that the time when the bodies of Pharaohs were discovered, it was also the time of a rule like Pharaoh which emerged, & has today, engulfed the whole world. Just like each era has to end, so will the new Pharaoh of the modern times will end too.

In the meantime, just believe in Allah completely and do your deeds. Be patient and wait for the time when Allah, the Almighty will take away the power of the modern Pharaoh, end his tyranny and will establish justice and peace on this earth!
