A beautiful quote from one of the great Tabi’i who was also one of the great scholars of his time, Masrooq ibn al-ajda:

It is sufficient knowledge for a person to fear Allah; and its sufficient ignorance for a man to think highly of his deeds!

There is actually lot to learn and to understand in this Deen, so as to implement in our lives.

The depth of meaning in this quote reflects clearly that knowledge that helps us to know about Allah is more important than anything. And the knowledge which makes us fear Him will actually be more beneficial to mankind.

And a person who thinks great about himself and his deeds is indeed ignorant.

May Allah make us among those who fear Him and do deeds just to please Him.
